[Gpdd] (MISC) New piggie owner

Hi all-I just got a guinea pig, and am wondering if there is anything that I should know about (wrong sorts of bedding, food, etc.). I used to have one when I was little, but I don't remember anything! He's full-grown, was given to me, and I don't know anything about him. Should he be neutered? He's going to be an only pig, so I'm not sure about that. Also, I remember that my old piggie loved apples, carrots and the like-and this one acts like that sort of stuff is poison, so any suggestions?
