Dear Jodi,

Your guinea pig is really smart! He has learned that he gets fed

treats when he wheeks and that this can be any time of the day or

night. The only way to stop the nighttime wheeking is to stop 

rewarding the behavior. Only feed him at times that you are willing to 

be awake.  At first he will escalate his behavior and if you give in,

things will get much worse. You must be consistent. Do not feed him in

the middle of the night. Eventually, he will give up and mostly ask for food when it is likely that he will get some.
