To Dawnda,
I am sorry that you lost Tasha, but I also want to comment on putting her to
sleep was the right thing to do, as hard as it is. We owe it to our piggies
not to let them suffer. Guinea pigs do not get into heat, therefore, bleeding
means that there is something seriously wrong with them. Sweetie was 15 month
old when she had a hysterectomy. I believe that she survived because she was so
young. Nevertheless, surgery was very hard on her and I felt so sorry that she
had to go through so much pain. One thing I promised myself is that I will
have a piggy with tumor problems put to sleep after the age of 4 years old. It
is the only humane thing to do, as hard as it is on us owners.
I do enjoy the networking, and all the good ideas everybody has at the GPDD.
I learn something every day.
