Hello Everyone

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thankgiving and thank
you Susan for the e-card. I'm on vacation this week
and I drove an hour and half up to Marietta, Ohio to
the humane Society of the Ohio Valley to pick up an
abandoned guinea pig. I seen her on petfinder.com. I
don't know how I ended up on petfinder.com. It must
have been fate. She was guinea pig #1. The picture of
her just called out to me. They said they were all 2
years old, but they were maybe 6 months old. She's
about half the size of my 2 year old. There were four,
but I could only take one right now. They were all in
a small cage with cedar chips and no hay, but the cage
was clean and they had a pigloo. Of course, they were
all fighting over the one pigloo too. She has a Upper
Respiratory Infection, so I started her on Tribrissen
that I had when I got home.
I e-mailed the humane society telling them that the
other 3 probably had a URI too, but they probably
won't do anything for them. Hopefully. they will, but
they didn't e-mail me back. I told them that they will
die quickly and what anitbiotics they can take and not
take. I took newspapers, blankets, and dog toys up to
donate too. I guess that is all I can do. At least I
saved one piggy.
I named my new little girl, Ginger. She has the same
color hair as Ginger on Gilligan's Island. She half
abby because she has a Mohawk running down her back.
She looks like she's having a really bad hair day. Her
face is short-haired with a white patch between her
eyes. She's was so happy to be in her own bigger cage
with no other pigs picking on her. She purred when she
looked around and went in her pigloo. She may have to
stay in that cage if Jasmine hates her. She's my bully
pig. I'll have to wait until Ginger is better to find
out.
