Hi there,

I have two boars (Youp and Harry) and they both sneeze now and then. At
first I thought they had a cold, especially when Youp would sneeze a couple
of times in a row... but I had him checked out by our vet and there is
nothing wrong with him.

My theory is that - like humans - piggies sneeze when dust, hay,
bedding(dust) tickles their noses. It could be ofcourse that they have an
allergy or something like that. Maybe you could try a few days with just
newspapers and hay for bedding... if they sneeze less you know it's very
likely to be the sort of bedding (woodchips) you use. As I live in the
Netherland I can't give any suggestions about good brands. I just use Plos
Span Wood Chips and it's fine....

Sounds like your vet knows his/her business, so I think you don't have to
worry. Mine sneeze too now and then, but I think you only have to worry if
there also is a lot of discharge from the nose and eyes.

Hope this helps... just my 2 cents!

Good luck, best wishes and happy wheeks from Holland
Jolanda, Youp and Harry
