[Gpdd] MISC: Entertainment, my new pig! (And do pigs kiss??)

hey everyone!

This is my first post on the new guinea pig digest, ive been reading every 
issue but had some time today to update everyone on my piglets.

I now have 7 (AAHHH!!)  I kept 2 of Shelly's 3 babies - one went to a girl 
who lives across the street so i can keep in touch with her. Becky, as I had 
suspected, was pregnant, but i came home one day to find 5 dead babies all 
over the cage. I was so sad. I was in hysterics, and my friend came over 
immediatly and drove me to the vet where I had Becky examined.  She had an 
infection, and I had her on antibiotics for about 2 weeks. She's doing fine 
now - this took place in august when the digest was down. It was so sad but 
I suppose things happen for a reason.

I also took in a guinea pig that was up for adoption at my store. The poor 
ting was treated so horribly. it was so scared, in the 2 ywars of its life 
it had hardly been touched, shes overwieght so i presume she got little or 
no exercise. Well of course i had to take her in, and she is the sweetest 
little thing. If im holding her and I pucker my lips out she reaches over 
and licks them---its soooo cute! shes the only one of my piggies that does 
that. I wonder if she knows what shes doing - is she showing me affection?  
Anyway, as of yet I havent been able to afford a bigger cage for her - shes 
got plenty of room now but i have every intention of spoiling her once my 
car insurance is paid. But whenever im home i take her out and let her run 
around on the floor for hours, As well as the others. And shes much happier 
now!

In response to entertainmet, my guinea pigs favorite thing is to run around 
in a big open room - they popcorn and run around like crazy! The dont sell 
many guinea pig toys so i try not to keep them in there cages too long 
everyday. But you can handmake toys - one easy one is to take a cardboard 
toilet paper tube and stuff it with hay - pack it in good. That keeps them 
amused for a while! I think i actually got that idea from somone on the 
digest!

Happy Halloween everyone - by the way - did anyone make costumes for their 
piggies??
