[Gpdd] ( CARE) new guinea pigs

Hi everybody!

I am new to this list since I have only just discovered the amazing fun of
having guinea pigs.
I have only been piggie owner for one week now , so thats why I am placing
a post here.
I am totally unexperienced when dealing with piggies and would like some
advice regarding taming and getting to know the piggies.
they are two sows , age 6 weeks.I have had them for one week now but they
are still scared to death when they see me........., they go completely in
scared stiff mode :)
So I was wondering what to do?? to get them to understand that I only wants
to give them lots of love and cuddles.......
I take them out in my lap daily, one is quite settled down but the other
wont settle down.......she just wants to run away, wont lay still on my
lap.......but she loves to eat salad from my hand but after that she wont
lay still.......just struggles to get out of my lap.......What to do??
I would love for them to be loving and really tame in the future, that they
enjoy laying in my lap and be cuddled.....
But how am I going to do this??
I get a bit sad when they are so scared of me even if I have handled them
gently and keeping them in a quiet room.
How long does it take to get them settled down and enjoy my company??

cause I wont let them run on the floor until they are very tame.
