[Gpdd] BEHAVIOR: new pigs

Hello Slaves,
I used to subscribe to the GPDD a few years ago
but lost interest after my 4 girls were taken by a
black bear from the garage :( no comment... Anyway, I
am now re-subscribing. I have 4 piggies now. Rose
Petal, a three year old. I recently had to help her
sister, Olive Olivia, over the bridge following some
bladder stone problems. After Olive died I adopted
Maple to keep her company, and Rosie and Maple have
been getting along wonderfully ever since.
About two weeks ago, I wandered into a local pet
store and saw a poor mama pig and her daughter. The
mama has a very lazy(almost deformed) left eye while
her right eye is much better but you can still tell
there is something wrong with it. She pulled on my
little heartstrings and I took her and her daughter
home the next day. I have the feeling they had been
in the pet store for a very long time as the daughter
acted as though she had never been held
before--screaming and whatnot... she is warming up to
me now. I named the mama Mammy and the daughter
Scarlett O'Hara (Gone With the Wind).
Moving on, here is my problem. Rosie and Maple are
in one cage while Mammy and Scarlett have to be housed
in another, because every time I try to have them
"make friends" they try to KILL EACH OTHER. I have to
pull them apart and have a few subsequent bite marks
on my hands. I put their cages close together at night
so they can see and smell each other, but it doesn't
seem to make any difference in the way they behave.
How can i make my piggies get along, or at least
TOLERATE each other?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Grace, Rosie, Maple, Mammy, and Scarlett
from the brige, Ellie May, Abigail, Elizabeth, Opie,
Twinkie, Petey, and Olive Olivia.
