Hey Dawnda!
Love the updated website. Wow, 2 of your 3 new Ohio rescue girls are
"with pig." I'm glad to know they're with you. You're going to end up with
quite a large piggy family.
Also, for everyone ele's benefit, Jessica Rosler, our Southeastern
Ohio piggy savior of the 100+ HAS joined the list, but I think her post may have
just slipped by. I shall repost it here but will first mention that it
appeared in gpdd issue #102/March 30, 2004. (And no Lauren, I don't know how to find
particular issues in the archives either. Hopefully someone will enlighten
both of us! I've been hunting for this particular post for half an hour or more.)

Hello everyone! Due to the wonderful things I have heard about everyone
here...and the wonderful response I have recieved about my rescues, I have
joined!
I look forward to recieving my copy daily, and hearing from everyone! Take
care...Jess & the rest of the gang >>>
A belated welcome, Jess, from all of us piggy lovers! We're
delighted to have you here.
Susan & the Oakie Piggies (you need to be in public relations -- or GP
relations!) and Joseph, George the guinea pig's dad, I continue to share your
sadness and distress, and everyone else's about the "rodents for reptile
food" issue. Maybe Blockbuster's GP "Ray" or Snapple can help promote the guinea
pigs' image. And we have our own celebrity guinea pig film maker, Alyssa (and
her Guinea Pig Movie Stars) as part of our group. And we have our GP book
author.
I love Susan's idea of kids carrying posters with cuddly GP's signs
outside of places that sell feeder animals. (And if that's not practical,
pictures of kids with posters. Maybe we should have mice and rats in the corners
saying "save us too!")
Editorials? Op-ed pages?
Debbie in France -- it seems that the crocodile woman has plenty of
competition here in the US. The Ohio guinea pigs that Jessica rescued were to be
snake food. And now we learn that we having thriving businesses in the US
that do tremendous wholesale sales. We should have figured that out already.
What a world -- unicorns are only the stuff of myth while sharks and
cockroaches are 2 of the world's best adapted life forms. But that's a rather
dark view of things. Little by little we can each do a small part for good. And
there's always the view on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge for these
innocent little ones.
Wow -- this has taken a downward turn. Probably this should have been
2 posts.
Alge -- and the Three Jolly (but outraged and saddened) Rodents
