Great idea! I gave Brunhilde a small slab of sandstone to perch on, and
her nails are still as short and smooth as when I got her. I gave her
brother Gus two thinner sandstone pieces, and one big one for Sonja to
hold her salt lick on, as she won't touch it if it is hanging up. The
runty one (oops! I'm not supposed to call him that. :) just got himself a
red brick, which he loves to perch on, standing across the shorter side
with his butt sticking out one side and his head pointing off the other. I
think he does this to feel taller. He's always comparing his height and
length with his brother, who is almost litterally twice as big. Silly
piggy! The rocks and brick seem to really help keep their nails filed.
