Here's a funny story...

My son attends a school with three Pre-K classes. One of them got a guinea
pig in the fall and she turned out to be pregnant. One baby survived and
was adopted by the one of the other Pre-K classes. She has enjoyed being in
the classroom during the wheeek and going home with the teacher on the
wheeeekends. Now, this piggie is hyper-pig. Very active, very agile and a
bit of a biter. Of course, she's still very young too and not handled as
much as she could be. ANYWAY, the teacher and I have been talking and
trading pig-tips since our piggies are about the same age. (We got ours
around Christmas time and she was almost 3 mos old). I told the teacher if
she ever needed a pig-sitter to let me know-we'd be happy to take a roomie
for Fuzzy.

The opportunity came this wheeek for our Spring Break. Butterscotch came
home with me last Friday afternoon in her small, little petshop cage which
she is quickly outgrowing. I introduced her to Fuzzy (mine is free range in
one room day so I just set the cage down on the floor). They seemed to be
ok w/each other so I opened the cage for Butterscotch to explore and she
timidly came out ("I'm not supposed to be escaping but ok, if you aren't
going to stop me!"). She sniffed around a bit and was squirted by Fuzzy a
few times as she checked her out then all of a sudden...she took off! She
ran and ran and ran around at full pig speed (we've all seen our piggies do
this) and at the same time she was popcorning like crazy. It was the most
hilarious thing to watch!! She looked like a bucking bronco!! Fuzz just
stood in the middle of the room and watched. You could tell she was
thinking "What is this pigs deal?!". After more than several laps around
the room she collapsed under a table!

I thought I would wet my pants from laughing so hard. And now that she's
used to being out during the day she puts up a BIG ole' fuss when I put her
in her cage at night. You'd think I was committing pigicide the way she
squeals!! I hold her and hug her until she calms down then I hug and kiss
her some more. Every morning she looks so forward to coming out to play.

And before anyone starts writing to me about her small quarters...we are
giving her Fuzzy's big cage (homemade by hubby) to take back to school with
her and we are building Fuzzy another one-even bigger thanks to Cavy
Cages.com!

Oh, and she's not biting as much anymore. I think her former cage was just
too small and she had too much energy.

Just wanted to share that with all who I know would enjoy!
