Ducky,

I had both of my boars neutered (Speedy and Koko). Both of them had no
problems with impaction until after they were neutered. At the time of
their surgery Speedy was about 1 1/2 years old and Koko (recently
departed over the Rainbow Bridge) was 4 years old.

It seemed to me that both had personality changes after neutering and
both were listless and seemed depressed. For this reason I would never
neuter any males again. I liked their old aggressive attitude and they
way they would always rumblestrut when they caught sight of the girls.

I have to clean Speedy out every day and it is not a pleasant experience
for either one of us. If fact, I was cleaning Speedy out (this happened
about three months ago) when he turned and sank his teeth into the end of
my thumb to measure the depth of the flesh.

So, my opinion is........don't neuter the boys.......let boys be boys!!
Just keep them away from the girls.

Jim........Abby, Sassy Suzy, Speedy, and Ginger
