This is my first post. I've been reading for a couple of weeks and finally
decided to write. I wanted to say goodbye to my friend, Chewy. He was a
scholarly, calm, and sometimes ornery fellow. He crossed the bridge at 6
years old and broke my heart. I got him at 11 months from the Humane Society
and he ran my life until he died. Every morning he had to have a carrot as
soon as the sun came up, and hay for lunch followed by pellets for dinner.
He would never deviate from his routine or even try a new food. He was even
picky about carrot brands and refused those nice, little baby carrots. I
could write a book on Chewy's carrot fetish. My other pig, Nemo, and I miss
him horribly. On the plus side, my dogs are glad that their noses will heal
where he bit them when they put them too close. He would lure strangers to
his cage only to bite their curious fingers and then seem quite pleased with
himself. He was a pig of few words (he never wheeked), and only used to purr
on my lap or cuss under his breath if you bought the wrong kind of carrots
(he would even throw Green Giant brand back at you) Nemo, a Petco reject, is
a very shy and backward fellow. Chewy was bringing him out of his shell and
now he's gone.He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew this fat,
benevolent little soul.
