Hello all slaves and prince & princess cavies:

First, we must announce that Spookie turned 5 years old today. Her
cage-mate/adopted sister is already 6, and they informed us that in guinea
pig years they are now retired. No more being cute unless they feel like
it. They just want to lay around, eat their favorite foods and have us wait
on them hand and foot (so what has changed here?).

Second, MR - I just laughed about your Goofus and the wheat thin. It
reminded me of our Ben (passed to the RB 1993). He lived to be 7 and he
loved fritos (it was the salt I am sure). If they were out on the coffee
table while he was in your lap there was no peace until he had one - with
spinach dip!

Finally, we live in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA). With all the talk on vets
lately, I do think I want to say if you find a vet that is willing to admit
they are not the expert on cavies and read and study, you get a great vet.
My husband says that our vet learned about cavies through our piggies, and I
do think some of that is true.
So, now were are training our pet sitter. Lately with work and elderly
relatives, we have had to travel a lot. The girls (Cleo & Spookie) don't
like road trips and can't fly. It was difficult taking them to another
house - that works when you are on vacation, but for 3 or 4 days it is a
hassle. So we hired a pet sitter. It took some training, but she is really
turning into a piggie person. My girls are her "only pigs", but she does
well. If you are in my area and need a sitter, Angela from Anklebiters is
cavy-savey now!

Well, slaves, I hear my retired social security cavies calling for food, so
I must go. Have a great wheek!

Chris, Cleo & Spookie
