The guinea pig breeder whose animals were seized May 22nd in southern
Maryland has turned over 219 of the guineas to the county today. He hopes to get back
the other 54 when he wins the criminal proceedings. We all hope he loses the
trial and never gets to own guinea pigs again.
We don't know the date of the trial. However, the shelter left the message on
my answering machine today and they want to know the plan for getting them
out. YIKES!!! There are so many different kinds of piggies.. short hair, abbies,
peruvians, girls, boys, babies, gorgeous pigs.
I am going away and won't be able to take pictures this weekend and I also
don't even know who of the guineas he chose to not release. In any event, I do
hope to get there by next weekend, take pictures, and get them onto the
internet. In the meantime, here is a picture you can look at that shows the 2
newspaper articles about the seizure.

We need rescues to take in some piggies and tell us how many they can take.
We will need plans to get them there. Lauren Cordeiro has already been working
on a plan to transport piggies up north. Any ideas and rescues down south?
Please email me if you want to/can help in any way.
