Hi, Everyone!

Thank you so much for your advice on Windex - especially the thoughts on
syringe feeding, Marion and Carol. I think we need to practice syringe
feeding with all 3 of my guys, just in case. Windex is the absolute
feistiest of all three, more stubborn than the other 2 combined. You
know, he thinks *he's* the boss.

Well, here's what happened next: the vet strongly urged us to inject
the Baytril, which, of course, Windex isn't keen on, but it's a lot
easier than fighting him to get the syringe in his mouth. We also got
his blood work back - all clear, except for some low white blood count,
which the vet thought could be explained by the white blood cels being
deployed to fight the infection, or, less likely, that he has some sort
of immune problem. But basically, she was optimistic with the results.

Yesterday afternoon, he was wheezing and had a lot of sound in his
breathing again. But last night later he was much better - and this
morning his breathing was still a bit labored, but no wheezing or
gurgling - seems the liquid has begun to clear. He's also much more
energetic. So I cleaned his cage (he's resting in his own pad for the
time being), and he did a popcorn when I put him back in. He's drinking
a LOT now and eating pretty well.

We're hoping this improvement continues. He's still sleeping more than
usual, but I'm feeling some relief now that he's drinking and his
breathing has improved. Fingers crossed that my baby is on the road to
a full recovery! I'm so completely attached to him!

Thanks again!!!
Marielle, Windex, Widget, Schocki (and Russell, their dad / Marielle's
boyfriend)
