[Gpdd] [HEALTH] piggie specialists in LA?

Thanks again, Marion, for you good advice!
Windex is no longer wheezing - his breathing is almost normal, he's
drinking and eating like a healthy piggie (actually drinking a LOT,
which I think is probably a really good thing). He's in good spirits -
and, boy, will we be relieved when we've finished all the Baytril, so I
can stop poking him with the needle.
Now that things have calmed down here, I'm realizing that I need a new
vet - some of the things they said were just wrong at my current vet
(like that if his breathing rate is over 50 breaths/minute, it's a
danger sign - apparently, anything between 80 and 150 is normal - that's
a HUGE difference! - http://home.gwi.net/~czupryna/squeak/firstaid.html
and http://dlar.wayne.edu/training/guinea_pig.htm). I know they were
trying, but I'd just feel a lot better taking our guys to a vet who has
more depth of experience with piggies.
So, do any of you here in the LA area have a vet that you really like?
I live in the San Fernando Valley, so the West LA clinics are a bit too
far for me (I don't think it's cool driving for an hour with a sick
piggie). I found a vet on line who has pet guinea pigs herself and is
in Glendale, Dr. Joycelyn Quan - has anyone had any experience with her?
Any referrals are greatly appreciated!
Best,
Marielle, Windex, Widget, Schocki (and Russell)
