Great observation about alfalfa-based vs. timothy based pig pellets.  Oxbow 
Hay makes a timothy based pellet that also contains Vitamin C called Cavy 
Cuisine.  You can check out their web site at www.oxbowhay.com and/or call 
800-249-0366 to get a list of vets and stores near you that carry Cavy Cuisine.  You 
can order from the company, but it's probably much cheaper to find a local 
source.
