[Gpdd] CARE: cauliflower leaves

Dear Rayna,

Peter Gurney writes in his books the following about the cauliflower leaves:
" ... cauliflower leaves, the parts of the plant that we foolishly throw
away, are richer in nutrients and trace elements than the flower part which
we eat and which most guinea pigs are not keen on. However, a word of
warning: if you're going to feed cauliflower leaves to indoor guinea pigs,
remove any uneaten leaves very quickly or by the end of the day the ' old
stock' odour is appalling and very hard to eliminate."
So far searching on both the internet and our collection of books we came
across that we shouldn't give our guineas leek and other onion like
vegetables because they produce gas.
We hope that everybody is in a good health.

Greetings,

Roy - Sophia

> Hi, Piggies and Piggiepeople.........

> My frugal husband (Big Pig Daddy) gives veggies to piggz every day morning
and night, usually carrots and cucumber or sweet peppers. Today he gave
them cauliflower leaves. I told him that we are not to give piggz cruciform
veggies due to gas, but he said they seemed happy to eat it and did not
appear to suffer ill effects. They looked normal when I came home after
work.
