[Gpdd] CARE: Hiding places

Hello,

One thing that doesn't get mentioned on the idea of giving them a house
and hiding place is the fact of warmth. The reason I haven't removed the
house per Gurney's suggestion is that when they are both in there I can
feel that it is actually warmer for them (I keep my house at about 70
degrees BTW). And I have noticed that they do relax more inside the
house by laying out, and this has to contribute to their overall health
and well being. Consequently, the older and larger Cavy doesn't run to
the house when I come around like the younger more skittish one still
does, and I'd say this has to do with the fact that the older one has
really built up trust in me and the environment. She was actually pretty
restrained with me when I clipped her nails for the first time compared
to the younger one, and even comes up to the sides of the cage and
stands her front feet on the edge of the Coroplast where I'm sitting to
have a closer look at me. She even does this when I'm in other parts of
the living room on occasion.
