Hi Brad,
you definitely want to piggy proof the area you use for the piggies to run
in. I bought 3 critter playpens and connected them with cable ties . That is my
fence for outdoor use and indoor use ( though, Poly jumps the fence when she
is outside). What I like about my fence is that it is completley flexible. For
variety I let my piggies use different areas to run, set up the tents, houses,
and tunnels in the play area, make sure that nothing is in the way they could
get in trouble with i.e. cables, furniture I don't want them to nibble on,
spaces where they could get in but hard to get out ( I once had a pig stuck
under the fridge). I make sure that the two ends of my fence are tucked in secure.
Poly is the smart one and had escaped in the past. Poly and Sweetie had
visits from their friend Lollipop several times. He joins them in the piggy run
when he is over. He is much more interested in food than showing any romantic
interest in the girls, though. In my experience pigs over the age of 2 are not
that interested in reproduction, especially the girls. After watching them
closely in the beginning, you will get a pretty good idea of what their intentions
are. If your females are under 2, I would be a little more watchful.
You want to make sure that they have food and water in their area at all
times...something, that did not occur to me until much later.

have fun,
Marion
