It could easily be a lack of another piggie in her life. A piggie that's all 
alone can become depressed and stop eating, thus starving herself to death. 
You can give her lots (and lots and lots and lots) of attention, but if you go 
to school or work or are away for a while every day, it's really better to get 
a second (female, unless you want to go to the trouble of neutering a boy).
