Hi Alli

I have a silkie who I have groomed about every six weeks. I am lucky that a
friend who is a groomer is a piggie lover and knows how to trim up our Miss
Spookie. We have Spookie cut in the "lioness", leaving a mane around her
face and the rest of the body is cut short. During the winter we leave the
body fur longer, and during the summer it is clipped as short as possible
(we live in Nevada, USA and temperatures are very high here). Spookie is
almost five years old and has been getting "clipped" since she was about 5
months old when her fur began an issue. We had a piggie before that was a
silkie, and I tried to cut his fur, but it always ended up looking like the
kid with a bowl on his head. If you are going to groom you piggie yourself,
get a clipper set, they do a much better job than scissors.

On a funny note, we went on vacation earlier this month. We have some kids
that watch our girls when we are gone for longer trips. Cleo is 6 and
Spookie will be 5 in August. The kids love to hold the girls and they came
home totally tired. They rested and after 3 days were up to speed. So
funny, all they wanted to do was wheek for food and sleep. I haven't told
them we will be gone for a week (business) the end of the month and they are
going back to camp - only for 5 days, not so long. Funny how these guys are
like us, they get older and they too slow down.

Have a great wheek all,

Chris, Cleo and Spookie
