Hi Diane,
I have never heard of pigs having an allergy to lettuce. My vet recommends daily veggies, like romaine lettuce, kale, parsley and other leafy greens. The only lettuce to avoid is iceberg, because it has virtually no nutritional value. Another thing to avoid is broccoli because it can cause gas. I try to give my pigs different things and mix it up a bit. Variety is probably a healthy thing. Bell peppers make a nice snack and have vitamin C. Two other veggies that my pigs like, but that I feed in moderation, are carrots and cucumbers. Carrots are a bit higher in sugar than other veggies, and cucumbers may cause mouth sores, I have heard. Also, I'm not sure cukes have as much nutritional value as other veggies.
That reminds me - I just bought the gps swiss chard - has anyone ever tried feeding their piggies the stuff? They seem to like it.

Hi Jussy in Australia-
Yes those are dandilions, the white puffy things! Did the Europeans infect you guys with them too? ;) But just be sure if you pick the leaves from the yard that their were no pesticides or chemical fertilizers used, and also be sure to wash them off good.

Wheeeeeeeks to everyone,
Lauren, Pooh Bear and Piglet
