Hello Tex & Fellow Slaves!
Thank You for all of the info on bladder stones.
You know so much on the topic and I'm just happy
that we have you as a resource. I didn't mean to
do any harm to my fellow Slaves by comparing the
acidity of our piggies' urine to that of cats and
doggies. I wouldn't want to lead anyone astray.
I was looking for an easy way to explain the
acid/alkaline aspect of urine and I have such
a hard time finding information that addresses
guinea pigs. So, I hope I am forgiven.

Moving right along, in 2 wheeeeeks I'll be taking
Brownie Bear back up to the Vet's to have x-rays
done. I decided after her bladder stone surgery
(in December 2003), that I would have x-rays done
every 3 months to check for stones. I am also
going to ask the Vet about those experimental
treatments (polycitra syrup or actigal) you told
me about because my poor Bear had the calcium
carbonate stone removed (and that kind is 'usually'
recurring). Sigh!

Brownie has been drinking lots more water and
we play 'water games' like you suggested. It's
so cute cuz she when I tell her to "go drink her
Wah-Wah", she goes to her water bottle and drinks.
Such Fun. She still excretes the bladder sludge
and it doesn't seem to matter what I change in her
diet. But, I try to remain positive about it,
because like you told me before--it's better for
her to get rid of the sludge, then to keep it in
her body.

Again, THANK YOU for all of your Wisdom and
Knowlegde on stones...I don't think Brownie Bear
and I would have gotten as far as we have without
your help!!

      Love 'n Wheeeeeeeeeeeeps,
         Leah...Slave to Brownie Bear :-)
