Laken,
What kind of squeaking is Lasher making? Does it sound
like he is in pain? Guinea pigs are very vocal
animals, they don't sit quietly very often--unless
they are sick or sleeping...or eating, whick they do a
LOT of...but mine even tend to "talk" when they eat:>)
If you have just the one piggy, he may be lonely and
just trying to get your attention. He's also probably
used to the sound of the refrigerator door opening or
the rattle of a plastic bag, and he asssumes he's
going to get fed.
I'm not sure if Piggies are specifically nocturnal or
diurnal--they tend to like routine and will get into
whatever routine you have yourself. Do you stay up
late often, like studying or something? He's just
staying up with you. I find that if I cover my pigs at
night with a towel they tend to get the hint that it's
bedtime.
Please don't give up on Lasher...guinea pigs are very
sweet and trusting creatures and they have a lot to
offer...they just don't do it quietly :>)
He's telling you: "Say it LOUD! I'm LASHER and I'm
PROUD... and I LOOOVE FOOD...and I LOOOOVE you!"

Good luck, and please feel free to ask as many
questions as you need to.

Stacy and the Squee Squad (all 8 of 'em!)
