Welcome to you & Lasher! GP's are animals & don't always listen--same thing as having kids! My (human) kid doesn't listen to me all the time either! Is Lasher wheeking or squeaking? You can't mistake wheeking--it's loud enough to wake the dead--that means he hears something that means goodies for him (knife on a cutting board or the sound of a plastic bag)--no way to stop that, & it's actually kind of fun--my Potter knows when I'm cutting veggies on the cutting board or am in the fridge--if my husband does it, she's silent. She knows who butters her bread! Squeaking can take a few forms--if I'm petting Potter, she'll make little squeaky sounds of contentment. If Lasher is squeaking like he's in pain, that's another story. Time for a vet visit. Potter had surgery a few weeks ago & squeaked differently when her stitiches were coming out--the vet clipped her skin instead of the stitch & that was worth a squeak--I'd have squeaked also! No, GP's aren't nocturnal--they're usually up for interaction at any time--Potter got used to our schedule--knows when I clean the cat box, that it's time for her treats & house-cleaning, so we hear her wheek all over the house! When I'm at work & come home on my break, she'll come out from her hidey-places sometimes--other times, I guess she's napping. Please be more specific about what info you feel you need--make sure he's getting tons of hay--he could just be adjusting to his new home. Good luck with Lasher! it's an adjustment process for you both. Deb & Potter
