[Gpdd] Health - piggie feet fungus?

Hi there, 
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with feet fungus. I just adopted 3 new piggies (Macaroni, Cheese and Flo) and their nails seem to have a bit of a fungus of some sort. I just took them yesterday to the vet (who I asked about the foot fungus) and he said to put something called 1% mycortizole (I can’t spell it) cream on their feet. I looked in drug stores but there was only 2% and also all the box labels say “if ingested call physician or poison control center”.  Now I’m scared about it and I don’t want to give the piggies anything that might hurt them. 
Has anyone used this kind of cream? Is it okay for guinea pigs? Does anyone have a different remedy?
