Hi Melissa

What does the discharge from his eyes look like?
Guinea pigs do put out a milky substance from their
eyes that aides in cleaning their face. With one of
mine, the milky substance stays in the corner of her
eyes sometimes.
Do you ever hear him sneeze? Is the residue all over
the inside of the igloo or just around he entrance
into it? Some of my pigs leave a ring of residue in
the entrance to the igloo from their fur just from
going in and out of it.
Is he eating and acting OK? How is his breathing? What
kind of bedding is he on? He could be allergic to the
bedding. I had one that couldn't be on any kind of
wood shavings. That is why I went to newspapers and
towels as bedding. I can use the recycled newspaper
bedding products it the places that they get really
wet. Some of mine go to the bathroom in one corner so
I put Carefresh in that corner.
As for the limping, is their any ramps or anything
that he could have gotten his foot caught in? How old
is he? I have had two pigs that has gotten arthritis
in their legs. One of them will limp for a while and
won't go up the ramp because it hurts too bad. I have
some anti-inflamatory pain med now for her. It's
Metacam (Meloxicam) and it was only used on dogs for a
long time. My guinea pig with stones uses it too for
pain. Well I hope this helps you figure out what is
wrong with the poor guy. I always ask myself questions
and try to figure out what is wrong before I go to the
vet. Good luck!

Dawnda
