Hi Jenna and Fuzzy
Welcome to the list. Sorry to hear Fuzzy is squealing while weeing. Is
there blood in the urine? It may be worth keeping him on towels for a
day so you can check his wee for blood. I would have thought 4 months
was very early if it were bladder or kidney stones. He may have an
infection of the urinary tract. If he has a urinary infection he needs
to go to the vet for a shot of antibiotic. After they have an infection
this can cause scarring in the urinary tract and they may be more
susceptible to stone formation as calcium can accumulate more easily.
Heavily fortified guinea crunch type food should be kept limited as
should the likes of spinach because of the oxalic acid. The main diet
should be grass and hay with added selection of fruit and veg.
When he's better you may find it better to keep him on newspaper topped
with lots of hay he can munch on. Wood shavings etc can lead to
respiratory problems due to the dust. Also it is easy to clean out by
just rolling up the paper containing the hay and this will probably be
more hygienic.
Good Luck, I hope it is nothing serious
