[Gpdd] [CARE] re Bedding

My piggies wanted to add their 6 cents on the bedding question posed
earlier. Sonja, a debatably pregnant shorthaired piggy, really likes her
hand-towel for sleeping in, and uses folded newspapers and shredded
acid-free printing paper with non-toxic ink for the rest. She also has
the foresight to only poop in one corner, so her human can clean out
that corner without her having to leave the cage during cleaning all the
time. Her mortal enemy, Brunhilda, formerly introduced as Max, uses a
mixture of small straw pieces and the toughest parts of her hay mix,
shredded paper, and a bottom layer of pine shavings for their higher
absorbancy. She also has a piece of junk mail she appropriated as a
mobile roof to conceal herself from any humans who might try to pick her
up. Gus, who at almost 2 months of age is looking more like a Peruvian
long-hair than an Abbyssinian, really loves shredded paper. He can
flatten it during playtime to popcorn enticingly at his sister, and then
fluff it up again to use it as a mobile piggy-blind. His human can
easily remove the soiled paper shreds and adds more whenever he has done
a bit too much flattening. He also has a newspaper carpet for easy
weekly cleaning.
