Hi Susan and all
In earlier times I might have been shocked too, but my experience and
current circumstances have taught me. At its greatest point Penny Giggle
Farm was home to 50 Penny Giggles. Many have found new homes and sadly, too
many have made the trip. My piggies have a very fine exotics specialist and
I have spent thousands on vet care for them including mad dashes when a
piggie suddenly goes into extremis. After fine care they all died within
a month ( the ones with big deal problems requiring surgery). I have
developed a nose for when heroic measures might work and when they probably
wont. These, plus my current status (being evicted in a week) are the basis
of my decision for dear Ed. Ed looked to me for help and comfort. My regret
is that I didn't figure it out sooner when help may have saved him. Ed died
peacefully and painlessly and I am deeply content with what happened. I am
absolutely certain that when I cross the bridge there will be a huge herd of
Penny Giggles eagerly awaiting me and that the bouquet of flowers Ed hands
me will be the biggest and he will once again run up my front and snuggle in
under my chin.
And many thanks to all of who wrote.
Peace and parsley,
Sandy and the Penny Giggles (still needed Piggy train volunteers to Seattle
