>From your description of George's symptoms, it sounds to me as if he might have a tooth problem.  Get your vet to check his back teeth to see that they are not overgrown.  Apparently tooth problems and eye problems can be very closely linked.  The fact that George is not eating very well and has a runny eye suggests to me that it might be this.
