[Gpdd] [Care] Piggie Nailclipping

Hi all! 
I was wondering if you had any advice on nailclipping?
My Nero, normally the quietest of piggies, detests
having his nails clipped. I found that flour works
well when used to stop the bleeding(simply dab some on
the nail and it stops the bleeding) when I
accidentally cut a quick. My main question is: How
long should the nails be? Nero's hind feet have
half-inch long nails that make me reluctant to pick
him up without a towel...
