[Gpdd] Health: Mites?

Awhile back I wrote about my piggie and possibly having mites. So, we made a trip to the vet last week. He looked at some of the black dandruff things under the microscope and concluded that they were not mites as they were not moving. He said he was not sure what this was but Lemiwinks had a lot of dandruff that day and the following day. He told me to just keep an eye on his skin for redness and anything moving. Could he  possibly just have dry skin? Does anyone know of anyway to help with dry flaky skin? He scratches himself but not excessively. Any input would help.Thanks
