To ALL those that have written to me, Gail or the Digest,
I have so very many times tried in my own way to say how sorry I was to hear
of the crossing over of every one of our little guys. Until now, I could not
have known how much pain there was in the hearts of those that I have
addressed, how it felt to have lost their little princes and princesses. I know now how
incredible the pain is and how wonderful it is to have others remember so
well the little guy or girl that your heart will never forget. I have said many
times I wanted to have each of those little ones names remembered by more than
just their mommies and daddies because they are so much more than three pounds
of pet in their little ones. They are the beginning of life for some and
change so many lives for the better in others but one thing they are to ALL is
true joy that lives forever in the broken hearts of those they must leave behind.
Having them remembered is so important. For the past three days I have read
so many of your condolences speaking of our little boy, GEORGE, and how much he
has meant to all of you. How he has helped you to see how wonderful YOUR
little guy or girl is. It has prompted many who find it difficult to write, to say
such wonderful things about GEORGE. The tribute you have ALL paid our little
"Boy" truly leaves me speechless. To say thank you for remembering him in ways
I never thought he would ever be will forever bring tears to my eyes. Somehow
thank you will never be enough for making GEORGE the guinea pig so well
remembered by so very many wonderful people. But it is all I have and all I can say
so thank you ALL for your words, your memories of him and for the tears you
have shed for a guinea pig remembered as GEORGE the guinea pig. Every email and
posting has and will always mean the world to Gail and I.
Humbly and sincerely,
Joseph C. Petrillo, GEORGE the guinea pigs daddy forever
