The clue here is close, but separate,  If your cage is big enough, divide it 
in half, I always used C and C grids arranged in a square S shape, so the 
prospective room mates can touch noses but are separated by the wire mesh. 
Keep them side by side for one to 3 wheeks or more.  You can take them out 
together for floor time, but always with a mountain of fresh food to 
distract them. Separate them after at the first sign of real trouble, and 
keep some really thick towels and oven mitts at hands in case an all out 
fight begins.(it usually doesn't). By and by they get used to each other and 
become friends, napping by one another by the grid that separates them.  One 
day just take it out, if it doesn't work, put it back, it will work after a 
while.  Dont mistake rumblestrutting for real trouble, although it can 
escalate, after all, pigs will be pigs, wink, wink. Use 2 cages side by side 
but touching if your one cage isn't big enough.
