Hey all,
I love having the GPDD as a resource. I call my vet when I see fit but I hate bothering him with TONS of questions. So here's the scoop on Lucy...she got bloat again, but we caught it in time. She ate breakfast and we were having a snuggle when she yawned and apparently got something stuck. (She was doing this weird thing with her mouth.) She was breathing okay, but there was obviously something bothering her to the point of not eating. After half an hour, we took her to the emergency vet, where we had to wait two hours for her to be seen. Anyway, the vet said she had bloat again and put a tube down her throat. The vet didn't see anything stuck, but I suppose I could've been knocked out of the way by the tube. Our regular vet said that he thought she didn't have anything stuck and that her funny mouth actions may have been caused by bloat again. Anyway, she pulled through again this month, and Mr. Vet said she will just have to be on medication long-term. Does anybody have a
pig that keeps getting bloat? She's a little trooper, I'll give her that, but I don't know if I can handle it:) Also, anybody know much about the drugs used for GPs? My head spins when the vet rattles off things I don't know anything about.

Molly, Emily, Lucy, Stella, Hannah and Guinness (aka Squealy Dan)
