Janelle:

i nearly lost my Gohan to bladder stones! i'm sorry that i can't recall where i got the list but i am certain that it was here at the GPDD a long, long time ago... maybe someone else will have it. but i do remember that these are high in Oxalates - the entire "cruciferous" family, these are the "fall" veggies such as cabbage, brocolli, spinach, and cauliflower. also, avoid Alfalfa hay, which is high in calcium...Timothy hay is best, and i use Oxbow Hay's Cavy Cuisine. they provide first cut Timothy Hay, and their website is: www.oxbowhay.com i used to order the Timothy hay by the 50# box when i had a herd of 24... now i have only 5, and along the way asked, and succesfully got, 2 local retailers to carry Oxbow products!!! yay!!! back to your question... i have Peter Guerney's books, and if you don't (yet, because i KNOW that you meant to order them...) you can visit his lovely website and learn that you can feed your cavies some natural remedies which DO WORK! i use the
Parsley and Cornsilk! they love the Cornsilk...like a child eating candy...and of course the parsley is like cake! Peter's site for this is: http://www.oginet.com/pgurney/ and then click on Kidneys. and while i am rambling away at this awfully late hour ( 1:55 a.m. East Coast time ) all of this and more more more!!! can be linked to from the list of Web Sites provided to you from Seagull's Caviary which is at: http://www.aracnet.com/cgi-usr/seagull/gplinks.cgi?cat=Care sooo: Good Luck! Please tell us how things are working out after you switch their diets around!

All the best - holly in New Jersey - Gohan, Buz & Alfred, Sunny, Pavel, and Shelly the LabMix
