I've never had any issues with our males scent glands and they only get 
smelly when they are lazy and sit in their pee, but the girls are the 
same way.  We only have one male now but we at one time had three and 
all three of them were neutered.  I wonder if this makes a difference.  
They definitely stopped mounting each other after the neuters.  Maybe 
they don't bother with their scent glands after being neutered.  I wish 
the same could be said for our bunnies.  Boy their room can smell like 
a skunk let loose when we are bonding them.
