[Gpdd] ANNOUNCEMENT: ALERT!: GPDD Under Spam Attack

All,

We have been monitoring bounced/false messages, and it is apparent that the
GPDD is currently being "spoofed" by a spam (or virus distribution) engine.

DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENT YOU GET, EVEN IT IT APPEARS TO COME FROM
"GPDD.ORG"!

The GPDD does NOT send attachments. 

The list itself should be ok (thanks to our Moderators!) since we are
member-only, and messages are reviewed (thanks, Moderators!) - but there is
no way to prevent the malicious use of our address by a third party.

This type of activity usually dies down in a day or two; if it does not, we
will have our hosting service investigate.

Again - stay safe!: don't open any suspect e-mails, keep your virus
software up to date, and (if you can) use a personal firewall, spyware
detector and plain good sense.
