Greetings, Michelle -
I pretty much trust the Oxbow Products to be healthy for the animals that
they are advertized for - they have been one of the most progressive
companies in doing research on GP's and making food and treats tailored
specifically for their needs.
I have used both Critter Berries and Critter Carrots. I am really impressed
with the Critter Berries. Both my piggies love them and consider them big
treats. They each get two Critter Berries a day. I use them, broken up, to
get my male to eat his Vitamin C tablet (also Oxbow) and my female to eat
her Shilintong. It works like a charm! I have seen no ill effects from
them whatsoever. I believe that the Critter Berries do contain Vitamin C,
but I would not use them as the only source for a piggie's Vitamin C needs.
The Critter Carrots have not worked very well for my piggies. Both piggies
seem to have trouble chewing them - sort of a 'gagging reflex' type reaction
which they have never done with anything else. Also, after eating one or
two of them, both piggies seem sluggish and uncomfortable for a while. It's
not something I can really put my finger on, but we just have not had good
luck with the Critter Carrots. After having them a few times, the piggies
themselves started not having any real interest in eating them and that
convinced me even further to discontinue them. I have heard other folks say
they were fantastic, though, so don't rule them out just based on my
experience. Like I said, I trust Oxbow's products.
[NOTE: If any of you use the Critter Carrots and would like to have this
little package that I have, email me directly with a mailing address and I
will gladly send them to you. I hate to just throw them away if other
piggies enjoy them.]
Thanks for the heads up on the price reduction - I'll put in an order
tonight.

Hi all, this post is two fold. . . .
1. I was wondering if Oxbow critter berries and oxbow critter
carrots are healthy and beneficial for GPs? Do they have vitamin C?
If any of you do use these treats, how many do you give and how often do
you give them to your GP?
2. The reason why I ask is because right now Oxbow is now having a
price reduction (I just wanted to let everyone know in case they wanted
to get some at a reduced price)
Thank you all for your help and expertise-
michelle
