Hello Slaves!
It's me again. I'm feeling a little
under the weather, so I'm home today.
Daddy Slave left yesterday on a work
trip, but he'll be back Thursday. So,
it's just me and the pigs toughin'it
out this wheeek.

Anyways, last Saturday I took my
Butterscotch to a local Vet that I
have never been to before. They were in
CRITTERS USA magazine, so I figured
I'd give them a try. Brownie Bear has
x-rays scheduled for Dec. 12th, but I
didn't want to wait that long. If you
remember, BS hurt his right front paw
somehow. And early last wheek, it looked
like it was getting better. But, then
on Wednes & Thurs, he was limping again.

So, I took him for an exam and x-rays
on Saturday. And the Vet could tell that
he was a little tender in that area.
And the x-rays showed no broken bones...
Whew! She prescribed rest and Metacam,
which is funny because I was already
giving him 2-3 drops of Metacam daily.
She suggested that I separate the pigs,
so I set up another cage and put BS in.
But, he looked so sad that I couldn't
even keep him in there for maybe 15 minutes.
Butterscotch is hyper and he needs to
have lots of open space. He was meant
to be a Free Range Pig.

Of course, Brownie Bear is different.
If I do have to have bladder stone
surgery on her, I will keep her in a
separate cage. And she won't mind.
BS will probably mind more than she will.

So, Butterscotch is doing better. He
wasn't limping as much yesterday and
today so far. And although I wouldn't
recommend that Vet that I took him to,
I was glad to get the x-rays done for
peace of mind.

Well, I gotta go run and play with
the piggies now...Wheeeek!

    Love 'n Wheeeeeeeeeps,
       Leah...Slave to BB & BS :-)
