A simple solution to replacing grid flooring
is to use a cut-to-fit piece of Durarock;
it's the stuff used to make walls around
bathtubs and showers. It's water-proof,
smooth, easy to clean,easy to work with,
and cheap. You can get it at any Home Depot,
etc.,.
I first had the idea while trying to figure out
what to use to make a false floor; the cage
I have was too deep for my gp to see out of.
I nailed three 2X4 length-wise to the bottom
side of the Durarock and slid it into place.
Now, the floor of the cage is only about 2 1/2
inches from the top of the pan, allowing my gp
to see out, and me to keep an eye on her.
Put a layer of Carefresh on the new floor, and
voila! all done!
Good luck, Ty.
