Okay all you piggies and piggie slaves - I've snuck away from my master for
long enough to ask everyone a secret question. For Christmas, I heard that
Santa was bringing Phylo a "guinea pig kabob" - which is basically a little
metal rod you can spear pieces of veggies on and then you attach the little
bell at the bottom to keep the treats from falling off, and then the whole
deal gets attached to the side of the cage. I thought this would be a good
idea as it would keep his fruit and veggie treats from getting underfoot on
the bottom of his cage. My question concerns these little corn and carrot
shaped wooden pieces that come with the toy - are they safe for piggies to
chew on? I've seen piggies with little wooden hutches and they chew on them
all the time and have had no problems... but I am always leary of
store-bought treats and felt that, just in case, I'd better ask the group.
It says they're great for piggie dental health... but then again, what
company is going to say: "Hey! this could cause problems for your furbaby -
please buy it anyway!" lol At any rate - I'd better get back to Prince Phylo
as he will soon suspect something is up. :P Hope all his piggie pals can
keep his Christmas gift a secret!
Thanks to all!
Megan and Phylo
