[Gpdd] HEALTH: safety of toys

Dear Megan --

Regarding the guinea pig "kebobs" -- I have one hanging in my little
friends' cage -- I think some of those commercially available pieces are not
good for the piggies because they have artificial color, etc. However, in
many pet stories you can purchase small pieces of wood, circles of salt,
etc. that can go on the kebob that ARE good for them. In response to one of
the other recent posts about this, my piggies do not gnaw on the metal
center -- you just need to figure out the best level to hang the thing so
that the pieces you WANT them to gnaw on are at a good level for their
little teeth. I think it's particularly nice to put the wood pieces on
there, since they can dangle off the cage bottom a little and therefore not
get full of piggie poop.

Ruth

>Okay all you piggies and piggie slaves - I've snuck away from my master for
