Juls,

A piggie is such a nice Christmas gift. Let us know how the surprise went.

My piggies like to have balls of newspaper in their cage. I crumble it,
black ink pages only which is safe for them to chew, and toss it into their
cage. They love to push the balls around, rip and chew it, and as the balls
unfold, hide under it. Another favorite is toilet paper tubes stuffed with
hay. See, they don't need expensive toys, just like kids, they like to play
with the box! Tissue boxes, oatmeal tubes, shoe boxes, paper bags, all can
be wonderful toys for piggies.

We give our piggies apples and I have never had one get a mouth sore. We
don't give them every day, but a few times a wheeek.

Happy Holidays to everyone,
Dee, Joe, Juliet, Peaches and Pumpkin

Hello everyone! I thought I would give a quick update on Miss Piggy since I
haven't written for a while. She is doing well, although I do think she is
bored. That of course will change tomorrow night! I have only been able to
hold her a few times since there really is no place for me to cuddle with
her on my lap at my friends' house. And I hate chasing her around the cage!
I would love some input on the best ways to get her to trust me and not make
me chase her, I was thinking of bribery. I know that she will start to love
her free time out of the cage once we get her here (the door closes firmly
so the cats will stay out while she is out on the floor) so that may help.
She loves to be petted and will even come up to my hand if I'm giving her
space for eating. She loves the red leafed lettuce, the romaine is ok too.
As for fruits she likes oranges, grapes are better, and the blueberries are
the best! I gave her some apple which she gobbled up but then read that they
can someti!
mes get
mouth sores from the apples so I think that we will just avoid them. I am a
little worried about her teeth since she has no interest in the chew stick.
I saw some interesting things at the pet store but am unsure which is safe
for them. Has anyone tried the lava chews? How about the loofah chews? There
were also bark chews and fruit branch chews. Any opinions? I also read that
GPs like some of the bird toys with bells and mirrors has anyone tried them?

  Merry Christmas everyone,

  Juls
