First, let me take a moment to wish all piggies and their human servants a happy holiday season...

But I have to share with you what happened when Keith and I went to Petco to buy Miss Lucy's presents on Christmas Eve (I know, last minute and all but we hadn't had a chance to do it until then!)

I love to check out the piggies in the store every time we go there...especially since they are well-cared-for in this store. Anyway, after picking out Lucy's loot, I was up on the stepstool admiring the piggies when a mother and daughter came along to look as well. The mother was asking me all kinds of questions regarding their care, etc...she seemed to care what happened to the piggie too, not just how much work they were, so I found myself whipping an old envelope out of my purse and writing down some of the basics for her, including your website and my own home and cell phone numbers. Then Keith and I did the shopping for Lucy's turtle brother Shelby, but I could not resist sneaking a peek back in the small critters section...and there was the little girl cradling the cutest guinea pig of them all in her arms with just the most enchanted look on her face! If only I had had a camera, what a photo that would have been, they were so adorable!

When I scribbled down the website address though, I went on and on about how much help all of you at the GPDD had been to me and Lucy...and again, thank you all for all your help.

P. S. Special wheeks to everyone who offered advice re: her housing...we went with the suggestion of covering up the grid with a thick layer of newspaper, followed by a thick layer of Carefresh and Cellsorb mixed. This is working just perfectly for us and seems somehow to be much more absorbent than just using Carefresh on its own. And yes, we are careful to use only black & white newspaper, no colors! Thanks again to everyone for their help!
