[Gpdd] [CARE] Towel Questions

Just wanted to ask for any reccommendations on using towels instead of bedding materials in cage bottoms:
 
How often do you change the towels?
Do you use any special soap or detergents to wash them?
Is there a particular brand better than another?
How large or small of a towel is useful?
Do you double or tripple fold for absorbtion?
 
Bedding has become very costly with my 2 C & C cages I built in December.  I have a 3 X 5 that is 2 story and a 3 X 4 that is also 2 story.  Any suggestions would be great!!!
