Hello

Congratulations on getting another pig for Poopsy. You
should keep them separated for 3 weeks to make sure
the new pig does not have something contagious. It's
hard to do because you want to see what they will do
together. I make the mistake of not waiting once and I
had a big vet bill to treat them all for mites.

There are no guarantees that the two pigs will get
along. Sometimes the personalities just clash badly! I
have 6 females in 4 different cages for that reason.
It will help if you introduce them slowly on neutral
territory outside of each of their cages. One pig will
see the other as an intruder on her territory if you
put them in the same cage all at once. Maybe, let them
eat veggies together outside their cages. Then you
just have to see how they act around each other.

If they seem to get along, you can try putting them
together in one cage. Clean the cage out first so it
will be a clean start for both of them. It will help
if you have two food dishes and two water bottles.
That will cut down on possible fighting. You should
put them together on a day when you can stay home with
them all day. You can keep a close eye on them all
day, and separate them if fighting breaks out. Good
luck and enjoy!
